Paddy Hills : Paddle To The Fields

Hellos! I've decided to update my dead space here.
Once again, thank you for tuning in to this mini update!
Have been wanting to share about this cafe to you guys for quite awhile now, cause it left a really good impression on me!
How I got my ass there via public transport : Train-ed to Haw Par Villa Station (Exit A), then take bus 200 (bus stop nearest to the exit, don't cross no road!) and alight 3 stops later!
And walaaa~ here we are!
Prominent shopfront which can be spotted from afar!
I realized Rise and Grind coffee are served here too!
Seating capacity was relatively decent with a few al-fresco tables.
There was a huge preparation area at the heart of the cafe where you could see the staff busy at work.
Check out the menu!

Of course, Mister chose the Iced Mocha ($7.50)!
Presentation was pretty good because of the pretty striped straw, as well as the chocolate placed on the ice cream stick!
Interesting eh?
Taste wise was just as good, so this deserves a thumbs up!
Mister here can almost be called a Mocha 'pro' now. HAHA
And I chose the Pinkish Lemonade ($7) to quench my thirst under this humid weather in Singapore.
This consists of thyme, pomegranate and a dash of rose water!
What a combination, lovely & refreshing!
One of the cutest beer coasters I have ever seen!
Next up!
Truffle Fries ($15) with shaved smoked cheddar, sage & garlic aioli sauce!
How can we not complete the meal with some of these?
Chunkier versions, double the truffle!
Mister ordered the Potato & Fish ($22) which came in a big bowl like this!
The potato here basically refers to the rosti (which I initially thought was beehoon)!
And that heavenly 'beehoon' rosti melts in your mouth!
The seared sea bass was surprisingly veryveryvery tasty too!
We highly recommend this dish here!
I have never tasted anything like that.
The combination complemented each other so well, it turned out amazingly good!
I chose Berry Ricotta Hotcake ($19) this time round because... I have seen many photos and reviews on this.
Hee, what's more?
Photogenic!
At first, I thought it was pretty pricey for just a hotcake and berries.
I ate those thoughts when I saw the portion in reality.
Berries were really fresh and.. THEM HOTCAKE WAS SO FLUFFAYE!
There was a tinge of maple syrup aftertaste too!
Tbh, I was struggling to finish my portion.
There was a table beside us and one of the girls too, ordered this.
They didn't even order any sides, and she couldn't even finish half of the hotcake.
And then there I was, looking at my almost empty plate.
Gee!
 I admit I am a glutton.
Check out our plates fighting for space on our two-seater table.
LOL
Remember to check out the side of the building where you can find interesting illustrations!
An #outfitoftodaytomorrowandyesterday perhaps?

Chillax At PARK : Cafe By Day, Bistro By Night

Many of you might have already spotted this standalone restaurant situated just outside of the Holland Village MRT exit.
There are absolutely too many new eateries at every corner in Singapore nowadays, and you will always be spoilt for choice on which one to choose.
Personally, I have not been to PARK so I suggested the idea to my company and they agreed!
Cute design for the menu though.

I've always liked simple menus like this.
Totally feels like I am dining in a cargo container.
Hahaha! Spot the translation for "Superwhite Lies".
Eh, my personal favourite out of everything. (If you know what I mean)
Iced Cappucino ($5.50)
Apple / Lime Juice ($3.50 each)
The highlight, Truffle Fries ($11)!
Sorry for being such a truffle addict, I can't even look at other alternatives anymore.
And what's more, a friend of mine recommended this so I thought I ought to try it out!
Verdict : The truffle intensity level wasn't to my liking as I still prefer the one I had at Habitat Cafe (still standing strong as personal no.1 for truffle fries) & Symmetry (for the amt paid, you get a whole bucket, how nice!)!
Okay, the ranking hasn't much changed since last year eh?
I will try more cafes/restaurants to share with you guys! (:
(unless you hate truffle fries, well then, scroll on!)
Penne Alfredo with Turkey Roulade ($14.50)
The only thing I felt is that one will overpay if pastas are chosen as mains.
Truffled (WHAT)(YES)(TRUFFLE) Mac & Cheese ($12.80).
Fellow makan kaki here loves truffled food items too!
Look at how the cheese rocks the dish.
I find it abit jelat.
Overall, a really chill place for a short meal, a beer, anything!
And if you feel like dining in a cargo container.
Just kidding!

Potato Head Folk : A Whimsical Portal To Art & Food

You can never miss this iconic four-storey building if you happen to walk along Keong Saik Road.
With its simple red lining against the white paint of the main building, it is no doubt why this is such a good spot to open up a cafe.
The building has this chinese name, "Dong Ya" which was previously the Tong Ah Eating House that serves traditional kaya toast and good kopi.
Although it's a pity that Tong Ah Eating House was being forced to move, the Potato Head Folk Group still managed to keep that signature signage which gives off a really unique vibe.
Why?
Because the concept is somewhat a fusion and I think it fitted well unto the whole theme.
Read on!
Three Buns is at the first level of al-fresco dining which charges no service charge.
Just be prepared to brave the heat if you are going in the afternoon!
I know many will be confused just as I were when I tried to figure out the name of this place.
Here is a breakdown of the four-storeys in the building, Potato Head Folk.
Level 1: Three Buns Bistro aka "The Kitchen".
Level 2 : Three Buns Restaurant aka "The Dining Room".
Level 3 : Studio 1939 Lounge aka "The Private Lounge".
Level 4 : Rooftop Garden aka "The Rooftop Bar".
Anyway, we weren't 'warriors' so we decided to head up to the 2nd level for some comfortable air-conditioning.
#firstworldproblems
And I must say, I really really love the interior of the restaurant!
It's so beautiful, every little corner has an artwork that decors the whole place up like magic.
It seemed that we have stepped into this portal designed by David Bromley (an Australian artist).
If anyone of you went to Artstage 2015 this year, you might have spotted some of his artworks as well!
I love eccentric, bold and colorful pieces of visual altogether.

Ha!
And here we are at level 2!
Interesting sight eh?
I totally fell in love with it.
This set of pillows subtly brought out the fusion theme that it is trying to put across.
And of course, the wooden furniture adds on to the mood.
I am telling you every corner is just too photo-worthy.
I couldn't resist all these snaps.
A peek back to reality.

TA-DAH, finally food is here!
House Fries ($5)
Very crispy and rich in content!
Dizzy Rascals ($15) for le foodie partner who didn't want a filled tummy so she chose a Kids' burger!
Guess the portion worked just fine for her!
The burger contains a 100g beef patty, cheese, onion relish, & double "Notorious T.O.M Sauce" in a demi brioche bun.
According to her, it was really really delicious!
And here is my Honky Tonk ($19), which I chose because I don't do beef and lamb.
A really flavorful burger which consists of the buttermilk fried chicken, coleslaw, lettuce, "Big Poppa Hot Sauce"& den miso mayo!
The burst of excitement in my mouth was unimaginable.
Got free stickers for her!
hahaha!
After we had our fill, we decided to follow the pretty tile flooring leading up...
Bunny!
I have no idea why but I love this painting here!
And more artworks along the journey~
I look like a hobbit standing in front of the giant door!
I guess this is the only door that leads you to the "The Private Lounge", Studio 1939.
Interesting eh?
And the final door to the rooftop!
The building holds a surprise center awaiting your arrival!
Even the bamboo blinds are nice.
Art vs Food, how would you rate this?
For me, it's a bonus!
I love to be surrounded by pretty things and of course, delicious food! ^^
