Victor's Kitchen : Authentic Dim Sum For Everyone!

One can easily find a dim sum eatery anywhere here in Singapore.
And to be truthful, I haven't had any really good ones that could be compared to the dim sums I had in Hong Kong.
In my own opinion, I personally think Swee Choon is overrated (Chill,it's just my own view).
But still, as a foodie hunter, I keep my options open to keep trying!
So le foodie partner suggested on bringing me to Victor's Kitchen (which is actually walkable distance from Bras Basah Mrt Station).
I heard from her that the current outlet has expanded compared to the previous time when she was there.
The office crowd occupied most of the tables with a small minority that could be seen opting for take-aways.
"Imposters" everywhere, beware!
MENU!
Order strips like this will be handed to you once you take your seats.
The aunties are really helpful and friendly!
I am really impressed by the service!
HK Summer Iced Tea 冰镇奶茶 ($3.20).
And I can't agree more that this is 100% Hong Kong Taste!
It really reminds me of the ones I had in Hong Kong and I miss them!
Crispy Golden Shrimp Rolls 香脆鲜虾腐皮卷 ($4.80).
This is awesome and mad crispy with the fresh shrimp meat wrapped inside!
Although it is a little too oily, everything is fine.
Char Siew "Bo Luo" Butter Buns 菠萝蜜汁叉烧包 ($5.20).
This is really da bomb!
The bo luo's crispy exterior with the fragrant cha siew combi is just perfecto.
This is by far one of the nicer versions I have ever eaten!
So it's definitely a must-try!
And of course, how can you have a dim sum meal without the presence of the Tasty Queen-Sized Siew Mai 美味蟹黄烧卖 ($4.80)!
The signature and also the best-seller : Golden Egg Yolk Lava Buns 黄金流沙包 ($4.80).
Undeniably the custard was well-done with the oozing salted egg lava and soft bun.
However, my only concern is the layer of oil that forms while consuming it.
It may be too overwhelming to have a second helping because of the oil.
Do bring along a pack of tissue in case things get messy!
Overall, I guess the food faired above average and the service was really good!
I will recommend you guys to give this a try if you are a dim sum lover! ^^

Standing Sushi Bar Review

Am always hearing about the highly-raved pocket saving goodness of Salmon Sashimi they serve here.
So I decided to drag Mister to try it cause' we are huge Salmon lovers!
As we can see, the restaurant was really packed on a Monday night.
Why???
BECAUSE....
OF THIS!
Insanely crazy good deal eh?
There are many more promotions happening throughout the week.
You can check it over here :- http://standingsushibar.com/promotions/
I guess Salmon Madness chases the Monday blues away which is why it is sooooo popular!
You can try special sushi rolls as well!
Salmon Sashimi (5 slices for $3).
The salmon were really goooodd, the freshness and thickness were not a disappointment.
We ordered a total of 20 slices which makes it $12 for just the two of us.
This is really worth the bucks when each of us could just spend that $6 elsewhere and will only be enough to get us three slices.
Couldn't get enough of Salmon.
All Salmon, All The Time ($16)
If you like seared salmon, this is a definite must-try!
Buta Kakuni ($9.90).
Mister ordered this because he is a huge fan of Pork Belly.
Those three slices of fat and juicy pork belly are sure to make you feel sinful after stomaching them.
Well....I've sinned.
Tori Karaage ($10)
So so so so soooooo super crispy!
Look at the long queue even after we finished our meal.
So do make a reservation (ideal for big groups) if you are ready for some salmon and sushi action.

7 KICKstart Coffee & Grill Review

Previously known as 7 KICKstart BREWiches, now it's located at S.A.M (along Waterloo Street).
It is much more accessible as it is just opposite of the Bras Basah Station, if you exit from exit E..
You will definitely see this signboard from across the street!
Exactly just beside the signpost.
Storefront.
We were greeted by the friendly staff upon entrance.
All these are the different type of coffee beans they have.
Quite interesting though, if you are a coffee person.
SPOT THE PUSS IN BOOTS ASKING FOR TIPS.
hohohohohoho
They have a range of burgers but all of them are beef patties, I don't take beef so had to choose from the other alternatives
After a difficult time trying to figure out what to order,
here is what we have decided on.
Iced Caramel Macchiato ($5.30)
And I chose Ice Blended Butterscotch Latte ($5.70) instead of my usual Hazelnut Latte.
And this was pretty much to my liking, cause' of its thick layer of sweetness.
I guess I have a sweet tooth.
Very happy girl cause I got my caffeine fix! ^^
Mains : Hawaiian Chicken vs Chicken Parmigiana.
Overall, we love how the chicken was grilled.
Ohgosh, it was really really tender. Onomnomz
A close up shot of my dish.
Parmigiana is basically an Italian dish layered with Cheese and Tomato then baked.
This is really good, a must order if you're a cheese-lover like me!!!
Will definitely pay a visit back if I am in that area!
