Special Entry : Dedicated to Clicknetwork - Following Irene Ang's Foodporn

Hey folks! Here is a special post dedicated to http://www.clicknetwork.tv/!
One of my favourite online webpage which I frequently stalk for interesting videos.
I recently watched the video from the latest channel, Foodporn, a show hosted by Irene Ang who goes around Singapore looking for unique food places.
In this VIDEO , Irene goes to Old Airport Rd Hawker, which happens to be one of my favourite food centre as well!
So I decided to follow her trails and try the recommendations as seen.
To be honest, I haven't really explored the whole hawker, because there are a wide variety of food choices to choose from!

1- Albert Street Prawn Noodle

I couldn't find the one which she ordered, with prawns, pork ribs and clams.
So I ordered this.
There are 3 sizes to choose from I think.
Mine was the $5 portion, which was the smallest.
I chose Kway Tiao Noodles instead of the traditional yellow mee.
Her number 1 recommendation!
The shopfront looks like that.
You can see queues forming every now and then.
The prawns are really huge and fresh with creamy roe that is just so heavenly.
The soup is really very tasty as well, you can taste the intense aroma of the prawns, pork ribs and clams combined all in one.
Overall, thumbs up!
On a side note.....
Mister's Fried Kway Teow ($4) bought from another stall which was really worth the bucks because it has got lotsa delicious juicy hums.
My favourite!
I didn't try the rojak as I ain't a fan of rojak. :P

2- Seremban Kee Mei Siew Pow

Basically, this is the crispy version of the Pork Cha Siew Bun.
Look at the shiny golden exterior!
Ah...I can smell the fragrance of the roasted pork from the picture. ( HAHA, Exaggerate abit)
There is also the chicken version if you don't consume pork.
Portuguese Egg Tart.
You can taste the soft and fluffy eggs from the flaky exterior.
I thought it was quite tasty.
I would recommend you to opt for this instead of the normal egg tarts which are also available.

3- Xin Tian Di

This interesting pastry stall which sells cookies and muffins.......andddddddd
THESE!!!!!
SO cute right!
Oh myyy, how can I not check this out.
I bought the pineapple and chocolate tarts only because we would become balloons if we continued to buy more.
Argue Birds Pineapple Tarts, which looked suspiciously like Angry Birds.
This was not bad but when I ate the red one, I got kinda sick of it due to the overwhelming taste of the colouring.
Hee, the-always-looking-so-cute-minions.
Photogenic tarts.
Instagram worthy! (Just as Irene Ang commented)
Was really contented after exploring these surprises.
Really have to thank Clicknetwork for these shows, because I am a 50% 宅女.
Heehee, till the next time folks! ^^

Tian Kee & Co Review : Nostalgia

Happened to chance upon a review on this little cafe filled with old school touch.
What really attracted me was the food actually, and the ambience seemed nice too.
Tian Kee & Co used to be a 54-year old provision shop previously but now transformed into an artisan cafe which fitted right into our cafe scene in Singapore.
Therefore, you can see the simple yet nostalgic decor in the cafe.
It was rather accessible which I liked about traveling to a cafe.
Tian Kee & Co 's like a little hidden gem tucked away in the quiet part of the estate.
You will see this building from afar if you took the right route.
You can walk from the nearest Mountbatten Mrt Station, which is a 3-minute walk from Exit B or from Dakota Mrt Station,a 5-minute walk from Exit A (the route which I took).
And also, a 2-minute walk from the nearest bus stops, Bus 12/14/30/158/196 & 401.
How can we miss out the precious childhood ride which most of us took?
(Well, at least I did. Hahaha)
And it still works!
Saw a kid got onto the ride when we were about to leave.
Love the vintage cartoon decors.
How can we miss out the display of delights?
The choices are quite limited, but I was there for the Yuan Yang Cheesecake so I didn't spend too much time on choosing which one to have. Heh.
Beverage Menu.
There was quite a crowd on a Friday afternoon when we reached.
And almost everyone was seen whipping out their phones and cameras snapping photos of the cafe.
And finally, here is what we ordered.
Mister's Iced Mocha ($6.50) which was pretty good.
And for the adventurous me, SNAG ($5.50), which is actually espresso & rose syrup with steam fresh milk.
The other popular drink would be the 'Pink Lady', if you are looking for something without caffeine (less the espresso).
I guess it's alittle sweet for some tastebuds like my Mister's, but overall I think it's worth a try.
My highlight.
Yuan Yang Cheesecake($6.50)!!!
The layers of espresso with Hong Kong style milk tea all combined in one.
Thumbs up for the innovative flavour, but other than that, I guess it could be more intense to bring out the uniqueness of the cheesecake.
The overly sinful Milo Dinosaur Cheesecake.
Look at that!
This is pretty awesome I must say.
I've posted this photo to my instagram and many have visited but couldn't grab a bite of this.
So this really depends on what Tian Kee & Co decides to bake for the day!
If you are looking for a simple place to have some desserts or a cuppa, this is not a bad choice to satisfy your craving!
More photos before leaving the place.
OHOHTEEDEE.
Stay foodie everyone! ^^
