Greetings From The Hungry Heroes Cafe; Nice To MEAT You!

When I first saw reviews of Hungry Heroes online, I was quite excited and determined to give it a try.
But I haven't had any time until one of my friends chose this as a dinner date together!
And here we are!
It is around approximately a 5 minutes walk away from the Farrer Park MRT station, exit B.
Just walk along the Tessensohn Road and locate the Civil Service Club which is opposite of the destination you're headed to.
Don't be confused when you spot this building, >Art Art And Away<.
This is the building you are looking for!
Art Art And Away is actually a lifestyle space agency that retails unique decorative art and home decor in which Hungry Heroes showcases in the restaurant as well.
Walaaaa!
Look at the medieval-styled interior, something different eh?
Personally, I simply love this particular pink ceiling filled with all sorts of armed weaponry.
I find it really creative and fitted right into the theme, although I am not sure why the colour.
Framed posters of all the super heroes you can find.
In addition, we spotted a little corner dedicated to Transformers too.
Time to test your vision!
It's the minor details that matter.
The collector figurines that filled up the wall at the ground level.
After placing our orders, we sneaked up to the second level to explore.
And of course, it was a total visual feast!
The second level is literally an art gallery that features more of the pop art contents that Art Art And Away has.
A pity I didn't get to take a photo of the mini hero figurines ceiling lamp that was being hung.
Do stay tuned to the fb page of Art Art And Away if you are keen on such pop art pieces!
A huge dining table to cater to bigger groups.
Love the bold wall colour btw!
And at second level, you can snap clearer photos of all the center pieces.
Captain America!
This corner is really pretty!
And spotted yet another life sized model of Captain America.
(where you can get to 'touch' and take selfies with him!
Alright, it's time to head back for some meat!!
We threw Mister at the table to look after our belongings.
HAHAHA!
I was quite amazed by the choices of alcoholic beverages that were available.
If you are in for some, be prepared to choose from the long list!
Mister's Cafe Mocha ($5).
Truffle Mash Potato ($6).
Nothing goes wrong with truffles.
Nice to Meet You Platter ($59).
Do not be overwhelmed by the price yet!
This serves around 2 to 3 pax, and the portion is really pretty generous.
This includes a half rack pork ribs (Meat Fury's Signature pork ribs), 200gm sirloin, 250gm de-boned chicken leg (covered by the steak and ribs) and pulled pork, fries, caramelised onions, bread, salad and sauteed corn!
There are three different meat platters and it caters to different pax.
Astro Miso Pork Ribs (half-rack : $18).
The miso is slightly too mild but can I comment on how the pork ribs are so easy to eat and they are really really delicious.
The texture and the sauce can be pretty addictive!
Johnny's Inferno Pork Ribs (half-rack : $18).
If you are looking for something spicy, maybe you can choose this!
However, I think the spiciness kinda overpowered the fragrance that the meat had.
Basically, we tried all the different versions of pork ribs that they've got.
And out of these three, I prefer the Meat Fury's Signature version!
If you've got the meat cravings, perhaps, consider a date with the superheroes?
When we finished our meal, it was already night time.
But we decided to head over to the nearby Jewel Cafe for some desserts!
Still has got the best Apple Crumble to date on my foodlist!
Tried the Watermelon Steak for the first time.
Hmmmm, and I think it's gonna be the last time.
Sorry, I prefer my fruits to be cold. :o
Say hi to my dinner dates!
Alright, and that concludes this post!

Jewel Cafe & Bar Review

This wasn't my first visit to the cafe but it left me a good impression due to the dessert I had.
The Apple Crumble, which was really nice.
A must-try if you are craving for some desserts.
Jewel Cafe & Bar is the second outlet to Jewel Coffee (One Shenton Way) which is situated just a 5-minute walk from the nearest MRT Station, Farrer Park.
If you are looking for good coffee, I guess the one at Shenton Way is a much better choice because they focus more on the caffeine.
The store manager and one of the baristas at work.
So here is the list of food items we've ordered!
Iced Chocolate ($8)
Yes, it's a little pricey but this is really quite good.
Mojito Mocktail
It was a tad too sweet at first but as the ice melts away, it just became better and better.
Iced Mocha ($7.50)
Just like how my mister likes it.
Macchiato ($4.50)
Scorched Eggs w BBQ sauce ($9).
BOMB.
Love how the meat complement the half-boiled eggs!
A meat lover will definitely dig this.
Golden Fried Fish ($22), with Truffle Fries (+$2).
Pan-fried Chilean black cod with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables with cardinal sauce.
Love Love Love the truffle fries.
I swear I am hooked on truffle fries recently.
Still love the ones at Habitat Coffee tho.
Didn't really like the fish because I find it too bready, but mister loves it.
Umami Prawn Capellini ($23)
Was contemplating between this and the Chilli Crab Pasta.
But since this is a hot favourite on the list, I decided to give it a try.
This capellini is inspired by the local Hokkien mee but its version includes grilled prawns, tossed in crustacean oil and topped with their own Umami "magic" dust.
Love how they did the fusion with bonito flakes and fish roe (which is my favourite) and it's so rich in flavour, it blew my mind away.
And of course those juicy and fresh prawns lead this dish to the next level.
Have to agree with all the reviews that this is definitely a must-try!!!
Pancakes w Strawberries & Caramelised Bananas ($14)
The pancakes are done airy and fluffy which is pretty good but the downside was them bathing in the sea of maple syrup.
As the pancake soaks up the maple, it moistens up way too fast which leads one to get sick of the taste easily.
The cafe has a decent amount of crowd on weekends so do make reservations if you intend to come in a big group!!!
Heh, Huin in sleepwear for the day.
Stay tune, folks!
Do leave me a comment if you think this site needs any improvement!
