Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Review : For the Caffeine Maniac!

Finally another update after sooooosoooooosooooo long eh?
Sorry folks!
Anyway, here is my update on the visit to CSHH (Chye Seng Huat Hardware)!!
I still have got some cafes which I visited and have yet to post the reviews.
So do keep checking back ya!?
I was so eggcited when I decided on this cafe with my mister.
I've heard about all the commotions about this cafe but I have yet to visit because I am just way too busy.
Well so, I am finally here.
Standing right in front of the new establishment of Papa Palheta (which is well-known for the coffee).
I guess I do not need much introduction.
You will be greeted with this unique entrance which will lead you straight towards the aroma of coffee.
A spacious al-fresco dining area.
Upon stepping in, you can clearly see the layout of the cafe.
In the middle, there is a huge counter area whereby baristas and staff are seen busy at work.
Apparently, there is a second level!
Simple and "old-school" feel menu.
A hardware found! Hee.
It was a friday afternoon and the crowd wasn't as bad.
Thank god.
HUAT AH!
Same goes for my man.
Lawl.
One look into the glass display and I saw these.
This is definitely the first cafe that I went to be selling local delights.
The ang ku kuehs comes in interesting flavours like yam, sweet potato and salted bean.
There are the traditional ones such as peanut and bean.
Didn't had any feel for kuehs so I did not order any.
There are Kueh-lapis as an alternative as well.
More choices!
Shortly after we ordered, the food came even though we were given the very huat waiting number.
Mister's medicine bottle.
Cool eh?
Cold Brewed Coffee ($7) with milk and syrup.
Simple iced coffee served at its best.
For the adventurous taste bud, I decided to order the interesting Nitro Black Matter ($7),
which is cold coffee on tap.
The appearance do look very much like beer right?
Surprisingly, the very creamy and malty black coffee was much to my liking.
And I really really love it.
Mister doesn't really like the taste.
Next up, Italian Breakfast ($12).
This dish includes a slice of toasted foccacia (Italian bread baked to smiliar texture to pizza dough) topped with two poached eggs and pork bolognese sauce & parmesan cheese.
Die also want to show you guys a shot of an oozing poached egg.
Heh.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the pork bolognese sauce that came along instead of the traditional hollandaise sauce.
That was a pretty impressive twist for the poached eggs I must say.
Mister's The Huat Breakfast ($17).
You may choose how you want the eggs to be.
Mister chose scrambled eggs which was a great choice because everything just blends together for an awesome brunch on a plate.
The potato salad is the bomb.
Didn't really like the butter croissant for my case but mister loves it.
What's on the table!
Left the place with our big fat satisfied tummy.
onomnomnom.
Took some photos before leaving the area and heading for some desserts!
Where to?
STAY TUNED. (;
I recently checked the fb page and learnt that they are expanding!
Another brunch spot to look out for for the East-landers.
YAYYYYY, so do check the website for more upcoming info if you are a CSHH fan! ^^

Tolido's Espresso Nook Review

Interesting name for a cafe I would say.
Finally decided to pay this cafe a visit because my companion recommended this and I wanted to try it.
Thus, we are here!
It was a Saturday and around lunch time when we arrived.
Hence, no surprise to see such a crowd in the cafe.
We were considering whether to wait or take the outdoor seats when the head barista came out and offered us to share seats with two other dudes on a four pax table.
We accepted it because the weather was too warm for us to take it.
Inside the cafe was really cozy, but seats were really limited and the walking space too.
We had to squeeze ourselves in between seats to get to the table.
Where the head barista is at work.
Beverages for you?
I noticed they served ice cream too!
Was too full after what we had, so we gave this a miss.
The food menu!
And the beverage menu.
Love the simple layout which was easy to read.
Partner ordered Mocha Milkshake ($5.90) which was rather addictive under the sunny weather.
The thickness of mocha was adequate and I would recommend this if you love mocha.
There are other choices to choose from as well, like Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla, Banana and Oreo!
As for me, I instantly made my choice when I saw Bailey's Coffee ($8).
Dope.
What else is there to ask for, other than a perfect cup of caffeine and alcohol.
I would definitely go back for this if I happen to be around the area.
It's a little pricey you may think but do consider that Baileys is added in your cup of caffeine! ^^
Partner's order!
The Ultimate Combo ($11.50) which consists of 2 fluffy pancakes, pork bacon, chicken chipolata and two sunny side ups.
From the looks of it, I feel full in the tummy already. Haha!
Happy partner with her food!
Was craving for rosti, and there, they have it!
Rosti w Cheesy Sausage ($12.90)
You can also choose the ones with Smoked Bratwurst ($16.90).
Heh, another shot.
The rosti was good but I guess I had better ones over at Marche for the time being.
And it was alittle oily but the sour cream saved the day!
It was an awesome brunch experience tho!
Will make return visits for other coffees and truffle fries as well as the cereal bacon rolls!!!
Headed over to Haji Lane for a short walk thereafter.

Windowsill In The Woods - Windowsill Pies Review

Situated just opposite of the Jalan Besar Stadium!
It's around 15-minute walk from the nearest mrt station, Lavender.
Or else you can choose to take bus 133 or 145 and alight at the second bus stop.
It's really easy to spot this cafe because....
You can't possibly miss the outstanding exterior as compared to the others!
So cute right!?
Reminds me of the fairy tale type of woods when I entered.
There are even artificial trees at the back of the cafe for camwhores to take pictures with.
And a big teddy as well!
We were greeted by a really friendly girl who made a little introduction on all the pies!
So kind of her to explain what each pie contains.
But as soon as she said the "smores" I just couldn't make any other choices anymore.
I was repeatedly telling myself in the mind, "I HAD TO ORDER THAT!"
HAHA
Yup, and so I did.
Strawberry Lemon Pie ($7) x Smores Pie ($8)!
The Strawberry Lemon Pie was really tangy and surprisingly refreshing!
Love the lemony aftertaste.
Lemon Meringue Pie lovers will definitely love this!
Ahhh, and this heavenly choice of rich chocolate tart will melt in your mouth together with the roasted marshmallows.
Mamamia!
This is really really superbly nice!!
Sweet.
Will definitely come back to try the other pies!!!
With a satisfying tummy, off Huin goes to another destination! ^^
