Adult: $58.80++
Children (below age 12 years old): $43.80++
Beverages are charged separately.
There were approximately 9 pax at our table and therefore, we get to try more food items!
YAY!
Note: Pardon the photo quality as some were taken using Iphone and the others with DSLR (in which were also edited by yours truly)!
The best way to kick start a meal - Salmon Sashimi!!!
We ordered alot more of this!
Oh and ordering is fairly simple, just tick the ones you want to order and hand the paper to the waiter.
Be sure to tell them your order again or they might mix up orders and you will prolly end up having 3 repeated same dish on your table. Haha!

Some Smoked Duck Breast perhaps?
(Credits: Joanne)
Mini Octopus.
Broad Bean with Vermicelli and Black Fungus.
Crispy Fish Skin with Salted Egg Yolk.
Definitely a must-try!!!
Deep-fried Spring Rolls!
Quite tasty, I love it!
Braised Shark's Fin with Fish Maw.
Am not a fan of Shark's Fin here so I gave it to Mister.
He said it was not bad.
Sorry if my photo didn't do any justice, it was the best I could capture.
To the mains!
Deep-fried Seabass with Soy Light Sauce!
This was so bombass, definitely recommending you to try this!
Steamed Red Tilapia with Spicy Bean Sauce.
That sauce though!
Fried Beancurd Cube and French Beans with Sambal Sauce.
I felt that the combo was a bit dry.
(Credits: Joanne)
Poached Baby 'Kai Lan', served with Chinchalok sauce.
Poached Prawns with Herbal Soup!
Love the soup! ^^
(Credits: Joanne)
You can opt for this version too!
Deep-fried Prawns with Crispy Oats.
Probably one of my favorite dish of all times, not mainly the prawns but the crispy oats!
Who is with me??!
Have to say the shrimps were pretty fresh too!
Sauteed Sliced Beef with Honey Black Pepper Sauce!
And the long awaited - Fried Carrot Cake and Sausage With Spicy X.O Sauce!
Must-try!
Crisp-fried Pork Ribs with Orange Sauce.
Decent but nothing extraordinary.
Green Mussels with Chef's Spicy Sauce!
(only one serving per table)
Very fresh!!!
When you see these deep-fried man tous, you know it's about time for.......
Tung Lok Chilli Crab!!!
(only one serving per table)
By then, we were all really full and decided to go for the desserts instead!
There are five items on the desserts menu to choose from!
We went with two because that was our limit. Haha!
Couldn't resist the Ice Cream puffs!
A photo of Chilled Almond Beancurd to end off this post!
Verdict : Worth it!
Forty three items on the menu to choose from, I find it reasonable for the price paid!
To think it is also conveniently located in town, so why not!?

CHIR CHIR 치르치르 : Can't Get Enough Of These Korean "Chicks"!

There has been a "chir" around Somerset 313 basement area because of a newly opened Korean fried chicken chain!
There are currently two outlets in Singapore now;
You can find Chir Chir in town, 313@Somerset, and also at Bedok Point
I visited the one at 313@Somerset on two separate occasions which I am about to share with you guys.
Pssh, I am late in updating again!
Bet most of you guys have caught photos on my instagram and tried it out already eh?
Disclaimer : All the following photos were mainly taken by Iphone6, which explains all the square photos you see here.
When we arrived on a Thursday night, there was quite a queue so we waited for a while before heading in.
Upon stepping in, what I noticed was the design of the interior!
Chir Chir brings out its own theme pretty well and I love what I am seeing.
I mean look at the cemented walls!
There are so much interesting stuff to stare at if you get bored while waiting for your food to come.
(which was pretty much what I did later.. haha!)
And of course the chair!
Super cute with the logo on the furniture, love little details like that.
Alright, moving on to the food!
Do take note that all the dishes are freshly cooked, therefore, it takes time for the orders to arrive at your table.
You wish to be served the best right?
So be patient!
First off, for the beverages, we chose Blue Sky (Blue Lemonade).
For the Tok Tok beverages, you can choose either the non-alcoholic version for $14.90 or alcoholic version for $18.90.
We chose the alcoholic one for this.
As shown above in the photo, the iSi soda charger which contains the blue liquid will be used to fizz the drinks up.
When serving, the waiter will then prepare the solution at the table side before pouring everything into the pitcher.
And tadahhh~
Our drinks are ready!
Reminds me of the potion drinks you can get at USS themepark.
Haha!
Oh! This also comes with four flavours, Berry Purple (Blueberry & Forest Berries) / Blue Sky (Blue Lemonade) / Blue Marine (Green Grape) & Passion Yellow (Passion Fruit).
For the non-alcoholics, you may alternatively opt for this interesting drink over here, Red-gizer which contains red bull, strawberry & yes, coconut milk.
Personally, I love love love this to bits!
Very refreshing and of course, energizing! ^^
There are still bits of strawberry meat to chew on while sipping this 'goblet' of goodness!
Now I know how the culture of "Chimaek" comes about and why it is so popular.
What is "Chimaek"?
It is basically the popular combination of fried chicken and beer, enjoyed by most of the younger generation.
The word breaks into two parts where the first syllable is taken from each, chi from chicken (치킨) and maek from maekju (맥주 beer)!
Interesting eh?
Now you know!
And of course, that explains the beverages menu, where you can find mostly alcoholic options.
Mac N Cheese ($9.90).
Very very cheesy, the way I like it.
Well now, I am ready for the main course!
Nest Snow ($32.90).
When this was served to our table, I couldn't stop 'WOWing'.
Look at this!
Isn't this a piece of artwork or something?
I am truly impressed by the presentation, so thumbs up!
This is yet another cheesy dish, so avoid it if you are not a cheesy fan!
I like how I can dip my chicken with the creamy sauce it is swimming in, similar to the idea of a cheese fondue perhaps?
The hugeass lump of the soft cream on top of the pile adds on another layer of goodness when consumed!
Super yummylicious!
It is one of the signatures, so try it now you cheesy fans out there!
Garlicky Wings VS Original Crispy Fried Chicken!
I forgot the prices for this, but I kinda assume they are $28.90 for 7 pieces (each portion).
These are oh so addictively delicious!
In my own opinion, I love the garlic ones but prefer the original because they are so crispy and amazingly juicy upon each bite.
This has got to be one of my favourites up to date and I am not even kidding!
This hereby concludes my virgin visit to Chir Chir.
I paid a second visit as mister was curious and wanted to give it a try.
And so here we were again~
Chir Cream Beer (350ml for $13.90 / 650ml for $18.90).
Wanted to try this previously but didn't.
I am glad I did though.
To be honest, I am not a beer person but I find this pretty refreshing!
This is sure to leave a cream mark on your lips after drinking.
Wait wait now, don't wipe it off just yet!
Ask your partner to kiss it off of you! Ha!
(That was how the idea came from right?!)
Chir Cheese Fries ($9.90).
What a blissful sight of cheese I have here on my table!
Haha!
With a sip of beer, ahhh~ Life,
Note that this portion might be too much for two pax to handle.
(Esp when one isn't really a cheesy fan. *points to mister*)
Spicy Wings with Sweet Potato & Fried Toppoki ($28.90).
This. Is definitely worth the bucks.
I like how pieces of sweet potato and fried toppoki are added so one does not get bored with just the chicken dish alone.
Oops, come to think of it, I forgot to emphasize on how much I like to use the little claw tool you see above in the photo.
They come in handy when eating chicken wings and drumlets.
Everything just seems so enjoyable and fuss free with that invention!
Splendid!
Creative visuals everywhere!
In conclusion, I love how uniquely the menu is in presenting the dishes to us consumers.
Especially the drinks! (even though they are slightly pricier as compared to others)
The atmosphere is also vibrant and in chillax mode, ideal for those who are looking for some decent good meal after a tiring day of work!
Go try some Chir Chir now!!!

Pong Gelato : Try This Thai-Styled Huskful of Coconut Madness!

If you love the Bangkok's version of coconut ice cream served in a husk, then perhaps you should head over to Pong Gelato (which is easily accessible at *Scape, just beside Cineleisure @ Somerset)!
There is no seating area, so this is basically on a take-away basis!
We really love the cute cartoon mascots which represent the different fruit-flavored sorbets that they have!
The Coconut Gelato is a default option but you may also opt to replace it with Milk Gelato at an additional $0.50.
The best seller of them all!
And of course we had to try the signature item right?
We chose the Coconut Gelato in Husk with a choice of Mango Sorbet ($5.50).
The mango sorbet is the next recommended flavor in line after coconut.
If you don't fancy these, fear not, because passion fruit and banana are also available!
As for the three free toppings, we had corn, nata de coco and red beans!.
Others include peanuts and corn flakes etc.
Verdict : Thumbs up!
Way better than the ones I had at BKK!
The fruity aroma in each sorbet (in this case, the mango and coconut) was really intense.
With the help of the toppings, they added layers of munching goodness at the tip of my tongue!
After you are done with the coconut meat and the sorbet, don't forget the coconut juice to complete your coconut fix!
Currently, they have limited menu choices to choose from.
Let's hope there will be more new creations in time to come!
You can also find Juicy Slush which is just beside Pong, where you can find mix frozen slush delights to quench your thirst under this sunny weather in Singapore
