Dinner at Symmetry

I am really bad at writing introductions here, so do bear with me ya?
I apologize for always being late at updating my posts.
 Irritating huh? :p
...
So here we are at Symmetry.
I've heard about this place ages ago, most of the crowd went for its stupendous Brunch spread as well as its coffee.
Symmetry operates as a cafe by day and restaurant bar by night (ooh, alcohol!).
It is situated at Jalan Kubor (around a 10-minute walk from Bugis), streets away from another highly raved cafe, Artistry, which I have yet to visit.
Till this date, it is still very popular, so I suggest you make a reservation before heading over, especially during weekends.
Meet Jack & Sally upon arrival!
It was a Saturday night when we stepped into the restaurant, almost full house I must say.
And to think it was actually raining cats and dogs outside, I was pretty shocked to see the crowd here.
I have no idea how to explain how much I love the interior of the place.
The cozy and laidback setting are definitely for groups of friends and couples who want to enjoy a decent meal together.
Food & Beverage(Coffee) Menu.
I know what you are thinking, why not choose some alcholic beverage?
Well, since I've heard alot about the coffee, it sure makes some sense for me to try the caffeine selection on my first time here right?
"Laughter is Brightest, Where food is Best".
We were seated just beside this large glass panel which sections out the main dining area and the kitchen.
Grape as appetizer?
Naise.
Truffle Potato Fries ($15).
Look at the topped cheese!
We went gaga over this whole tin of fries and devoured it within minutes.
The fragrance of the truffle is undeniably overwhelming.
For the truffle fan like me, I have to say this is one of the best I've ever eaten. (just prolly second to the ones I had at Habitat Cafe)
The price was a little steep for a tin of fries but I guess I am willing to pay because the portion was quite generous and it's really good.
Caffeeeeineeeeeee time (at night. HAHA)!
Iced Mocha ($6.50)
Mister's daily dosage of mocha is fixed at its best.
Awesome cuppa!
And my Hazelnut Latte ($5.50) didn't disappoint.
Thumbs up!
A friendly looking biscuit swimming in the heavenly latte.
-No splash detected-
Mister's choice of main course, Poussin ($34).
Spring Chicken with crushed potatoes, fricassee of mushrooms & pommery mustard sauce.
The sauce was really really well done!
However, the spring chicken was crispy on the outside but a tad too dry on the inside.
Or else, it would be perfect!
I chose the Norwegian Salmon ($30) upon the warm recommendation by the friendly waiter who served us.
Love the plates eh. Hee.
Basically, my dish was salmon vs risotto.
I wished the risotto was made much creamier, like the sauce on Mister's plate.
I kept 'stealing' his mushrooms and sauce and dripped them on my salmon.
There were little bits of asparagus in the risotto which made every mouthful really substantial.
The norweigian salmon was really stellar and the portion was pretty generous as well.
We didn't order any more desserts because by the last sip of my latte, I was really really bloated (No joke).
Overall, the meal was absolutely impressive especially the fries and the coffee!
And of course the bill was outstanding as well!
Hence, this post is worth $108.30. (Ohmyy...)
But anyways, I will still head back for its brunch and desserts for sure (when I feel richer).
Stay tune! ^^
