Habitat Coffee Review

"Habitat creates a window to a time well-spent."

This was a quote that was found on the wall of the cafe.
I have to agree with that because cafes are all supposed to be like that.
Which is why I fell in love with little cafes like this.
Habitat Coffee is situated along the stretch of Upper Thomson Road.
Easy to spot because of the prominent black signboard!
Desserts!
Didn't tried any because mister and I ate too much.
There are two levels of seating capacity as well as al-fresco.
We were seated at level two and lucky enough to get a much more spacious seating.
It was around noon when we arrived and level one was already full house.
Oh why oh why.
Love the simple layout of the menu.
And here is what we had for lunch.
As Habitat is well-known for its brews, we decided to have coffee of course.
Le mister's Iced Mocha ($6.90)
Pretty good, but we still love the one we had over at Cups N Canvas!
Heh.
My favourite Hazelnut Coffee (Regular : $4.90).
There are other options available as well, like Caramel, Tiramisu, Vanilla, Irish Cream and Macadamia.
And I love my caffeine fix!
HelloTruffle ($8)!
This version is dressed with fine grated parmesean cheese which makes everything so much better.
I gladly stomach all those cheese because mister wasn't a fan of cheese.
Whee! ^^
I don't usually order Truffle Fries because I hadn't tasted an awesome one..
That is, until now!
Are you kidding me?
This truffle fries receives absolute stellar ratings from me!
And I totally FELL IN LOVE with them.
Each and every potato is so crispy and soaked well with that definite fragrance that you just can't stop yourself from grabbing more from the mess tin.
Mister had this, The Big Ben ($14).
This includes scrambled eggs, honey baked ham on english fluff, a chicken cheese sausage, grilled tomato, and 3 mini potato pancakes (seemingly hashbrowns).
Everything you want on your brunch plate!
As for me, I always order something more unique if the menu provides it.
Eggs Tomato Relish ($15)
All these tomato goodness in a plate.
There are slices of bacon strips hidden in that sea of tomatoes.
You have to dip it with the sourdough toast, because I find it a tad salty just with the sauce itself.
Onomnom.
Since it's near to my place, would definitely return for more truffle fries and coffee!

OZ Specialty Coffee Review (Relocated)

Chanced upon this cafe while browsing Instagram.
Didn't know this is situated at Upp Thomson.
I've noticed quite afew cafes newly opened as well!
For instance, Habitat Coffee!
What a blessing to be staying at the North side. hehe
This cafe is located away from the main eateries at Upper Thomson though.
You will have to walk abit to find this quiet little cafe.
The simple menu!
And they provide a weekly special too.
If you are a coffee lover, this would definitely be the place for you! ^^
The different coffee beans they offer.
Mister wanted to order Iced Mocha (as usual) but with the recommendations made by the staff, he immediately changed his mind.
So he opted for something more fruity (as intro-ed by the person).
Simple looking cafe with a relative small seating capacity.
We both wanted to sit in the air-conditioned place but this girl sat in the middle like a boss.
So we chose the much spacious alfresco seating despite the weather being a killer.
Other than waffles, they  provide cakes too!
Didn't try them cause' .... wait till you scroll down to see what I ordered.

TA-DAH!!
What we ordered.
And yes. The one with Salmon is mine.
I ate more than the man. I am a monster. Heh.
Pacamara Coffee Beans from Ethiopia Sidamo.
That was what he ordered, forgot how much was this cause' we didn't even asked after ordering.
Really sweet of them to provide two lukewarm portions in shot glass even though I didn't order the coffee.
This is really slight fruity which was surprisingly unique in taste.
Iced Mint Chocolate ($5.50)
Under this hot and sunny weather, what more to ask for from a cold drink?
Dope.
(Though it tasted pretty much like the ones I can get from supermart)
Waffle-lover : My boyfriend.
He chose the savory over the sweets, Eggs & Bacon w Waffles ($8)
Another shot.
No ice creams are served for this as well as Maple & Butter.
Love the bacon that was really crispy and that waffle!
Ohnomnom. A perfect combo.
And mine!
The highlight definitely.
Morning Catch ($13)
LOOK AT THIS GLORIOUS SPREAD.
It's really hearty as the description says alright.
I mean wow.
All these for the price of $13?
Was really really amazed by the portion of salmon that came.
I meant like I could be ordering two or three dishes in another place and they wouldn't give me as much.
Or I could be paying that price but all the portions would be cut by half.
And that honey jam. Absolutely satisfied.
No cafes could beat this portion yet. Not even one.
BANZAI TO THIS.
Best part of this is that they don't charge any GST or service charge!
And there even provide free wifi access!
Thumbs up for the friendly service too!
WHERE TO FIND SUCH A GOOD DEAL?!
OZ! ^^
