Came to know about this restaurant upon the introduction from my friend!
Huge thanks to her for the introduction.
It really completed my day with a satisfying dinner with my mister. <:
Just a 10 minute walk to the restaurant from the nearest Outram Park station.
We were a little puzzled upon arrival cause there wasn't anyone at the entrance to show us in.
So we just went in ourselves and waited until my mister caught the attention of the waiter.
We were seated at a two-seater corner of the restaurant.
So our meal began with the waiter introducing us to the menu.
We decided on the set menu for the six course dinner.
And I swear the waiter was rather chatty and humorous which adds bonus to the whole experience as well.
Thumbs up!!! ^^
Here's our complimentary dish.
Lychee sorbet if I didn't remember wrongly.
Next, will be the chef's starter, which was the same for both of us.
There were a total of three mini dish and the waiter suggested us to take in the following order accordingly.
-CHEF'S STARTER-
Foie Gras Chawanmushi!
Ah foie gras, my favourite.
But the taste of foie gras wasn't too intense, though it has got to be the silkiest Chawanmushi I've ever tasted.
Pan-seared Scallop with Truffle Foam.
This is paradise.
Here's another shot of the goodness.
And your tastebuds will proceed to explode with this.
Hamachi with Ponzu, which is pretty much like prawn salad.
That freshness and the fragrance of crunchy condiments just leaves you wanting for more.
Here's le mister!
Yup, the three dishes are served in this manner.
...
Up next!
What we chose for the night.
-COLD DISH-
Mister's: New Style Sashimi, Hamachi w Ponzu Sauce & Orange Salsa.
Dayummm that freshness!
Me: Foie Gras Terrine w Focaccia & Lychee Crumbs
To be honest, I was pondering over the Oyster in 3 ways or this.
Both in which I can't make up my mind with; Foie Gras vs Oyster
Well, in the end I went for this!
If you noticed that three little white balls by the side, they are the lychee balls.
And with one bite, it will pop in your mouth leaving you a pleasant surprise.
Dope.
But I have to say the Foie Gras has a little intense taste, if you aren't a big fan, I'd rather you make another choice.
Heh, while waiting for our next course, camwhore a little.
Thanks mister and friends for the MCM air-flown from Korea! ^^
...
-SIDE DISH-
Mister's: Kurobuta Pork Belly Confit w Pork Cracker & Passion Fruit Sauce
This.....melts in your mouth. Need I say more?!
Great choice made, onomnom.
Me: Herb Crusted Mushroom Escargot.
Yup as the name goes, herb.
The herb is quite strong, but I still love it cause the portion is just nice and it's crazily good for an escargot dish.
-SOUP-
Mister's: Ginseng Chicken Consomme
When we ordered this, the waiter was telling le boyfriend this was a rather simple dish and asked him whether he wants to change his order.
We really appreciate that service cause he was being honest and wanted us to try the signature ones.
But too bad boyfriend is picky.
Out of the four options; He doesn't take seafood, mushrooms and miso soup.
HAHAHA
Nonetheless, the soup was surprisingly fragrant to me cause I always hated the ginseng smell.
Me: Cepes Mushroom w Truffle Paste
A closer shot.
This won hands down to every single mushroom soup I've ever tasted.
HANDS-DOWN.
-MAIN-
Mister's: Prime Beef Short Ribs on Hoba Leaf w Peppercorn Sauce on Lava Stone
Guess this was a great choice cause mister enjoyed it.
I don't take beef so I only took photos of this photogenic dish. Heh.
But I have to say it looks mouth-watering to a non-beef eater like me and I am tempted to try it.
Me: 48 Degree Poached Salmon w Japanese Broth, Dehydrated Wakame & Leek Confit
If you are a salmon lover, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!
This is the bomb.
Not only the salmon melts in your mouth, the sauce that comes with it will lead your tastebud to another level.
You will really fall in love with this one.
By the time I finished this, I was already quite full.
...
-DESSERT TIME!-
The waiter came along with this!
Awww, so sweet.
This cake was on the house and it's also the part where my hair nearly got burnt.
Cause' the waiter asked boyfriend to join me to take a photo.
While I was trying to make space for him, I didn't notice the candle nearby.
The waiter waved his hand and blew out the candle just in time or else I would be spending my b'day bald. HAHA Not so serious la, I know.
But still, thanks for his rescue tho. My hair is my EVERYTHING.
He still continued to joke by telling my boyfriend, "You see she nearly sacrifice her hair because of you, must love her more okay?"
Someone, just give him the "Waiter of the YEAR" already!
Alright, let's continue!
Mister's: Chocolate Lava w Homemade Gelato
Both of use shared the desserts in the end cause THIS IS SO DAYUM GOOD!
I ain't a big fan of chocolate lava cake actually cause I find it too overwhelming after awhile.
But this!
I just keep wanting more.
The match of warm cake against the cooling gelato is simply one to die for.
Me: Clan La Royaltine Chocolate Cake
Absolutely sinful but I don't care.
Look at that art piece! Dear lord.
With my mister. ^^
I really really enjoyed the whole day today thanks to him.
Happy 22nd to myself!
After the experience, I now know why is this a popular spot for birthday celebrations.
It's a really brilliant idea with the ambience and also for the amount you paid, which is really worth it!!!
Cause' before this, I always thought that fine dining will never fill your stomach and it's a total rip-off.
The Clan will definitely prove you wrong.
I had an awesome time and left with a filling tummy when I left the place.
So overall, I would really give it a 99.9% of rating over a hundred.
Where did that 0.1% went?
My burnt hair. :P
